Hey, did ya’ll catch Kristen Nedopak’s fanvid “Skyrim: To Lydia With Love”? Hi-larious. If I didn’t have a Geek Girl Crush on her from the interview I got to do with her for Gaming Angels, I’d totally have a raging one now.
We went to see Star Wars: Episode 1, The Phantom Menace today.
As much as I didn’t like the prequels when they came out, or just the idea of them, I still went to see all of them when they came out.
As much as I didn’t like the idea of them rolling these out in 3D, I found myself humming “Duel of the Fates” all this week, kicking it up to a wicked rendition in “doodley-dos” when Toki and I would mock fight with each other.
And as much as I fucking can’t stand 3D, I actually enjoyed this more than I remember enjoying it back in 1999. I got verklempt at the “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….” because I always feel like geek bawling whenever I see that on a TV/movie screen.
Seeing Return of the Jedi at a drive-in theater is my earliest memory. I can’t not go to and buy Star Wars shit. It’s sad and pathetic, but Star Wars, dude, it fucking gets me every goddamn time.
